28 Week Update!

28 Week Baby Bump

Image - HERE

Baby's Size?: An eggplant (not my favorite veggie to say the least)
Due Date?: June 16th
Total weight gained/lost: We shall see April 11th! My guess? 17lbs (eek)
Exercise this Week?: Pilates 2 times and smaller dog walks
Maternity Clothes?: Yes and LOVING my leggings!
Stretch Marks?: No thank goodness, but I have not skipped a day of moisturizing like crazy!
Belly Button?: Still in
Wedding Rings On/Off?: On but not after a walk, my fingers are little sausages, like those nasty viena kind!
Sleep?: Getting there... still crappy but better. Got that Leachco Back n Belly pillow but haven't quite gotten the hang of it yet!
Best Moment of the Week: Seeing my Mimi at her 80th B-day party and meeting my cousins new babies, Dominic and Hailey - SO SO SO super sweet. 6 and 7 weeks old! :)
Movement?: Tons and tons and loving it!
Food Craving?: Strawberries
Food aversions?: None anymore
Morning Sickness?: None, just heartburn now!
Gender?: Boy - Baby Tate Reynold
What I Miss?: A cold margarita
What I am Looking Forward to?: Again finishing up the nursery and meeting my little Tater Tot

This week I have really felt as if there truly is another body I am carrying around
I mean, obviously I've know he's there, but now he makes it so apparent and my belly just sticks out there!
I can't wait to meet this little man, I can tell he's going to be so happy
He responds to me singing my daily "Good Morning sweet peas" song to the pups every morning, he enjoys the patter of the shower water on my belly like I do on my head, and he even gets antsy pants when I sit still for too long
This boy is mine!
Dad is over the moon excited, he literally beams when he speaks of his son, it's as if nothing in the world matters but me and Tate even if we hog the bed, toss all night and have THE worst gas in the world
This is a great year so far and I am overly blessed!

I hope this week is a wonderful one for you!

Tori

26 Week Update

 26 Week Baby Bump

Brad wasn't home to take my bump shot, hope to update tomorrow!

Image - HERE
Baby's Size?: A head of lettuce
Due Date?: June 16th
Total weight gained/lost: 15lbs! Friday's appointment nearly had me falling off the scale but according to my Dr. I am perfectly on track. Still... I squirm when I think of that number!
Exercise this Week?: Pilates 3 times! Yeah!
Maternity Clothes?: Yes, loving cotton dresses with boots and my poncho still
Stretch Marks?: No thank goodness
Belly Button?: Still in
Wedding Rings On/Off?: On
Sleep?: Same as last week, terrible leg cramps. Upping my calcium intake in hopes to help this
Best Moment of the Week: Spending quality time with Brad for his birthday and waking up to him with his hand on my belly feeling Tate move
Movement?: Yes, lots! Dr. said now I should feel him move everyday and to monitor it (one more thing to stress about?)
Food Craving?: Blueberries and granola with yogurt
Food aversions?: None, maybe that's my problem!
Morning Sickness?: Little queasiness here and there, mainly when I'm too full
Gender?: Boy - Baby Tate Reynold
What I Miss?: Wine, as in more than one glass!
What I am Looking Forward to?: Finishing up the nursery, nesting mode is in full throttle now!

I've been feeling MUCH better these last two weeks, I still do not nearly have as much energy as I did pre-pregnancy, but it is better
Sleeping has been my biggest pain, I wake up 5-10 times a night with wicked leg cramps and muscle spasms
Then when that wakes me up, I have a hard time falling back asleep since Tate apparently is practicing for soccer or football tryouts and is kicking under my right rib - oh boy!
I am loving pregnancy so far, but am still working on "embracing" my new figure
Walking into Gap and seeing all the lovely Spring dresses makes me miss my waist!
I am so looking forward to April!

Tori

24 Week Update

24 Week Baby Bump
Image from The Bump - HERE

Baby's Size?: A cantaloupe
Due Date?: June 16th
Total weight gained/lost: Still not sure, appointment is next Friday the 8th, my guess is around 12lbs?
Exercise this Week?: Pilates and walked the pups Sunday afternoon
Maternity Clothes?: Yes - still loving yoga pants!
Stretch Marks?: No thank goodness
Belly Button?: Still in
Wedding Rings On/Off?: On
Sleep?: Same as last week, few and far between with mainly legs cramps now
Best Moment of the Week: Spa days with some girlfriends of mine laying by the pool feeling him move as I sipped cold cucumber water
Movement?: Yes, lots and I love it1
Food Craving?: No cravings anymore
Food aversions?: Not much
Morning Sickness?: Here and there, usually in the morning
Gender?: Boy
What I Miss?: Still my energy, I am always sleepy
What I am Looking Forward to?: Putting together the nursery

This past week has been rough with a capital R!
Brad and I both had wicked colds that brought my already zero energy level down to a negative ten
I managed to squeeze in one Pilates class, only because I guilted myself for not canceling my two other ones and felt that I should at least show face
Fortunately the class was a breeze, which I am pretty impressed with myself about!
I would pay money to watch a 6 month pregnant woman do pike plank!
I can only image what people must think as they watch

Baby Tate has been playing The Karate Kid in my belly all week, he is so active and very predictable
Cold liquid, fruit consumption and 9am, 1pm and 10pm are his most active times
This past weekend I went to Indian Springs with two of my fellow pregnant girlfriends, and the entire time I was there he put on a show
I think anytime I eat, drink or am relaxed he likes to let it be known there's a new man in town!
I wish I would have recorded this below shot, you could see waves of movement across my skin...
I was hesitant to share this bump shot, as I know not everyone is "in to it", but hell this is my journal, I can laugh at it in another twenty years!

Happy Week to you all!

Tori

22 Week Update and Nursery Fun (or not?)

22 Week Baby Bump

Baby's Size?: Papaya
Due Date?: June 16th
Total weight gained/lost: Not sure, next appointment is in a month, my OB said to ignore the scale, so I am just following orders:)
Exercise this Week?: Pilates once
Maternity Clothes?: Yes, loving my Old Navy skinnies and yoga pants still
Stretch Marks?: No ma'am
Belly Button?: Still in but definitely looking a tad different, can't quite point out what it is, but it seems a tiny different
Wedding Rings On/Off?: On
Sleep?: Very interrupted between the terrible leg cramps and bathroom runs
Best Moment of the Week: Laying in bed when Brad got home from work and him feeling Baby Shoe kick, or had he likes to say, "quickening" (someone's been doing his homework:)
Movement?: Lots! Especially after breakfast and when I drink cold pineapple juice and fizzy water
Food Craving?: Still fruit and now dairy like cheese sticks and chocolate milk
Food aversions?: None right now actually
Morning Sickness?: Few and far between, pickled ginger is still my BFF
Gender?: Yes sir - Baby Shoe is a boy
What I Miss?: My energy, I am always sleepy
What I am Looking Forward to?: Holding him on my chest and smelling his little noggin

Excuse the mess to the left, yesterday our contractor started working on the baby's room!
Until Monday that room was our guest bedroom and host to the last bump shots...
Nothing too exciting is going on except for repairs done to our house which is nearly a hundred years old - things were NOT pretty behind the walls in there - it was quite unfortunate
After that not so fun stuff, he is putting up crown molding and prepping for paint
My, (no offense) not so handy husband has decided to take on painting the nursery himself and is going to try and convince my Dad to install wainscot with him - this should be interesting with a capital I!
This wainscot idea is all his idea, I am content with plain walls, but if it does happen, I want the wainscot at least 48" in height, it's already a small room, I don't want it looking squatty!

I am hoping it's as easy as nailing this to the wall, but heavens knows, wish them luck!

Home Depot - HERE

Day One
A lovely California home built of non pressure treated redwood in the early 1900's, scary, huh?
Due to leaks in the exterior walls this was the result:

Day Two
Pretty impressive, huh?

Now that's what I call a diligent worker, just one guy in one day!

Tomorrow (Wednesday), he is taping off and texturing the walls
Thursday the crown molding and new baseboards go in...
Can't wait to share the progress!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Love,
Tori

20 Week Update

20 Week Baby Bump

Baby's Size?: Banana
Due Date?: June 16th (Father's Day!)
Total weight gained/lost: 8lbs-ish?
Exercise this Week?: Pilates and walking dogs, the same. Going to try out a 10min Pilate DVD tonight too:)
Maternity Clothes?: Yes, still wearing the jeans only though. I found a cute pair of dark denim skinnies at Old Navy for under $40 and they stay up a little better than the Hudson's plus look great with ballet flats
Stretch Marks?: No, whew!
Belly Button?: Still in, but I had the CRAZIEST dream that I got this HUGE outie, almost looked like a Cone Head but on my stomach
Wedding Rings On/Off?: On
Sleep?: Better-ish? Sill getting up 2-3x a night to use the bathroom, and I have noticed if I eat an earlier dinner I wake up around 2am starving
Best Moment of the Week: Feeling Baby Shoe kick and finding out the gender
Movement?: Yes, finally! And it's beyond incredible!
Food Craving?: Mangoes and pineapple, like all.day.long
Food aversions?: Salmon, which is weird because I usually love it
Morning Sickness?: Few and far between, pickled ginger is still my BFF
Gender?: Yes! B-O-Y!!!
What I Miss?: Meeting the gals for wine after work and my energy
What I am Looking Forward to?: Meeting this little man, of course! But revealing his name is probably next on that list!

I have to thank all my friends and family for their outpouring of love and excitement when we announced Baby Shoe is a boy on Facebook and via text/calls, etc.
You really are the best and we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts

Let the shopping commence!

And... I'm Back (Again!)

What a terrible way to start 2013!
I haven't blogged since last year since my January 1st post was a "hi" from our walk and doesn't really count... oops and sorry!

I've been a bit occupied in many ways, care to know why?:
1. Adjusting back to work from being off for over two weeks - so not fun
2. I had to clean up Santa's throw-up (aka clean up my Christmas decor and TWO trees)
3. Umm... I'm pregnant, and really feeling it! Speaking of throw up, cleaning up my own too!
4. Did I mention this little devil decided to eat two of Daddy's dark chocolate bars from his stocking? Let's just say this Christmas season involved a TON of throw up - nice right?

5. And more on a serious note, I've had a lot of down days, these pregnancy hormones have been getting the best of me and I've felt more anxiety and low days than I ever have before. I have been working through it, and am finding my inner peace and happiness slowly. Of course I am over the moon happy and excited about this baby, but in all honesty, fears and anxiety are tough and prominent in this big life change.

...So there are my "Excuses". Onwards...

So, since this blog is about my life, what I see, and do, pardon the next six months of probably more baby related topics, tidbits and fun things!
I hope to keep posting non-pregnancy related things, but hey, this is my diary, I get to do what I want!:)

With out further ado, here we go!
Every couple of weeks or so I am going to document my progress, I have seen this on many blogs that have turned baby-related and think they are a great way to document my pregnancy for myself, my friends, family and even for Baby Shoe when he/she gets older:

18 Week Baby Bump
Baby's Size?: Mango
Due Date?: June 16th (Father's Day!)
Total weight gained/lost: 6lbs. I actually lost some at first because I had such terrible morning sickness. I do know I started out weighing more than I have averaged out in the last couple years because I knew we wanted to start trying so started to eat more, oops! Oh and "Indian Summer" here offered many trips to Tucker's Ice Cream...
Exercise this Week?: Pilates and walking dogs
Maternity Clothes?: Yes! Just started this week actually. Jeans were starting to get uncomfortable except for a pair of my college Abercrombie jeans I can still wear low (remember how cool 2"zippers were? SAVE THEM!)
Stretch Marks?: No
Belly Button?: Still in
Wedding Rings On/Off?: On
Sleep?: Eh. Unless I am completely exhausted, I have a very hard time falling asleep because my mind is racing. I've been very anxious lately over-thinking things and it takes me much longer than usual. Also, I have to get up to use the bathroom 1-3 times per night, so annoying!
Best Moment of the Week: Laying in bed until 2pm with my husband and dog watching football and relaxing
Movement?: I have felt a little flutter, unless that's gas? Heaven knows I have a lot of that!
Food Craving?: Fruit, lots of fruit. Can't complain!
Food aversions?: Meat when I have to smell it being prepared
Morning Sickness?: Yes, still here. Not as bad, but definitely still there.
Gender?: Ugh, no!
What I Miss?: Champagne, not going to lie
What I am Looking Forward to?: Gender ultrasound on January 28th!

Thanks CJN for lighting the fire under me to post, I am happy you did:)
I hope everyone has a great week and I look forward to posting a couple nursery ideas by you all this week!

Tori
