The Glory of Blue

These are some of my absolute favorite spaces with one common denominator
BLUE
Particularly a navy shade of blue
Classic
Timeless
Fresh
and
 BLUE
BRS may or may not come home one morning to find our hallway or doors painted a shiny lacquered blue
Oh wait, that's right, he already did
Need to kick those blues and need therapy?
Try putting the Madeleine Peyroux station on Pandora and paint a space at 2AM, works like a charm

Enjoy these lovely spaces!

Setting a Ladies Table

First of all girlfriends, learn how to set a table!
Even if it's plastic-ware, nothing says, "let's eat" than a nicely set table
Go ahead, place the spork on the left, it's okay
(and yes, there is a whole webpage dedicated to the spork)

My first tip when setting a table (besides the aforementioned place-setting) is:
Layer!
Layer fabrics, dishes, and flowers the more complex details, the more the personality
Don't get me wrong, this girl loves plain white, as my china is Wedgwood White, but even all white can be layered and beautiful

All items in this set are available here: Setting a Ladies Table

Wedgwood White Available - HERE

For those of you who were not forced to set the table at the ripe age of three, here are some helpful place setting guides
Not that you have to memorize these or anything, but it's not a bad idea :)
I have a copy of these from Replacements in my recipe binder at home for quick reference:

Setting a Breakfast Table:

Setting a Ladies Luncheon:

Setting a Family Dinner:

Setting a Formal Dinner Table:

Setting a Buffet:

Sferra has THE most beautiful table linens known to mankind, or at least to me anyway
I would do anything for a set of their Classico ivory linens
Their quality is superior to any other company I have seen in retail stores, hands-down
Sferra Linens Available - HERE

So, next time you decide to host a little fete, consider ironing some cloth napkins, setting out your spork and flippy cups in a pretty manner, it will make all the difference in the world
Or at least to me if you decide to have me over:)

Happy Hosting!

Wedding Wednesday Take Two!: Our Invitation Set

Now that our invitations have been sent and the RSVP cards have all been received, I guess it's time to share them with my lovely readers (hi Mom!)

I searched for the perfect invitation at a bridal show, through the 8" Crane binders, and online for endless hours

We couldn't be happier with the beautiful design by April at Paper Dolls Design Inc, she was such a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend her for your wedding and party planning needs
THIS is the invitation I found and fell in love with, it was perfect!

I wanted something very simple and classic and I had always dreamed that my wedding invitation would be monogrammed
We chose a soft white heavy paperweight and a super gorgeous navy colour
April let me customize it to absolute perfection by darkening the navy, adding a navy and white ribbon to tie them together and let me select a different font
My only concern with her beautiful design was that to me the font seemed a little too fancy-pants for our style
I wouldn't call us fancy, more relaxed and classic
I just love our invites!

Thank you, April!

Wedding Wednesday: Our Engagement Pictures Have Arrived!

We are just thrilled with our engagement photos, I am so confident that our wedding photos will be perfect!
Next time I think a glass or two of champers would help ease the nerves, but hey, I just worked it

If you're ever in the need for photography, honestly I wouldn't hesitate to refer you to Kim and Niki of Kim and Niki Photography, they're wonderful and so pleasant to work with

Thanks ladies, we are so happy!
